Ogham Stones
  • Ogham is the earliest form of writing in the Irish language

    It was used from about the 4th to the 7th Centuries AD

    It consisted of up to five strokes placed in relation to a base line, often on the edge of a standing stone.

    There are over 330 Ogham Stones in Ireland, with a major concentration in counties, Cork, Kerry and Waterford.
