Cathedral of St. Mary & St. Anne.

  • The building of the Cathedral of St Mary & St Anne (North Cathedral) was commenced in 1808.     
    It was damaged by fire in 1820.    
    The interior was re-modelled in 1828 by GR Pain.    
    The interior is one of the country's finest examples of a Florid Gothic Style of architecture.    
    The presbytery contains records of baptisms and marriages from 1748.

    Cornelius Lucey, a Bishop and Freeman of Cork is buried in the grounds of the Cathedral.
