Cork City Hall
- Arson attempts on the old City Hall in October and November 1920 resulted in little more than superficial damage. The arsonists were successful on Sunday morning 12th December 1920 when the old City Hall was destroyed.
After the re-establishment of the City Council in 1929 it was decided to build a new City Hall on the site of the old City Hall.
The new City Hall was designed by Messrs Jones and Kelly and built by Sisks. It consisted of two wings housing the Municipal Offices with an assembley hall between. The facade is of Little Island Limestone
Éamon de Valera, in his capacity as President of the Executive Council, laid the foundation stone for the new City Hall in July 1932. Éamon de Valera also formally opened the new City Hall on 8th September 1936.
